Education For All

In response to the devastating impact of war on education in Tigray, Tinsae Humanitarian Charity Organization (THCO) launched the "Education for All" project to support students in some of the region’s most affected areas. With a total investment of 2,000,000 ETB, THCO provided essential educational materials to 10,461 students across 11 schools in Enderta, Mokeni, and Enda Mokeni Weredas.

Project Objective

The initiative seeks to restore access to education for children whose learning has been interrupted by the ongoing conflict. By supplying key school materials and psychosocial support through community engagement, THCO aims to rekindle hope and provide a pathway back to the classroom.

What We Provided

  • Chalkboards, chairs, and Desks for all 11 schools
  • Exercise books and pens for students
  • Clothing and Footwear to support the dignity and well-being of children affected by displacement

Why This Matters

The war in Tigray has forced many families to flee their homes, leaving schools damaged, closed, or converted into shelters. Thousands of students have lost access to formal education. This project responds directly to that crisis by ensuring students have the tools and environment needed to resume their studies.

Our Approach

THCO worked in close collaboration with:

  • Local education authorities
  • School administrators
  • Community leaders

This coordination helped us identify the most vulnerable students and ensure transparent, needs-based distribution of supplies.

Impact

This initiative is more than just material support. It sends a clear message to students: “You are not forgotten.” By investing in their education, THCO is investing in the long-term recovery and development of the region. The chalkboards and school materials symbolize a return to normalcy and an opportunity to rebuild lives through learning.

Looking Ahead

"Education for All" is part of THCO’s broader commitment to child protection, youth empowerment, and post-conflict recovery in Tigray. We continue to seek partnerships and support to expand this work and ensure that no child is left behind
