Tinsae Humanitarian Charity
Organization (THCO) was born in the heart of crisis. Our journey began in October
2020, as the Tinsae Charity Committee, a group of visionary and
energetic professionals who refused to remain silent in the face of the human
suffering caused by the conflict in Tigray. For two years, we operated as a
rapid-response, delivering life-saving aid to the displaced
and the vulnerable.
Recognizing the need for long-term,
structural change, we officially transitioned into a non-governmental
organization on November 22, 2022. Today, THCO is a formally recognized
NGO, registered with the Federal Civil Society Organizations Agency
(Registration No. 6524) under Proclamation No. 1113/2019.
The name ‘Tinsae’ (ትንሳኤ), a Tigrigna word
meaning ‘Resurrection’, remains our guiding philosophy. We believe that
no matter how deep the destruction or how vast the displacement, there is
always a path to renewal. Our organization exists to practically demonstrate
that hope can be resurrected, and that resilient, thriving communities can be
rebuilt even after the most difficult of times.
Initially established to help those
affected by the war in Tigray, THCO has evolved into a multi-sectoral
organization with a national reach. We currently serve both the people of
Ethipia and the Sudanese refugee and host communities in the
Benishangul-Gumuz region, ensuring that our mission of
"resurrection" reaches whoever is in need.
